A realistic family plan: outings finish before John’s afternoon work, dinner begins between 17:00 and 18:00, and the children’s day ends after dinner.

Work is the hard boundary.

Family outings finish before 14:00. After work comes dinner between 17:00 and 18:00, then the children’s bedtime—not another activity.

Family operating rule

Morning activity. Work. Early dinner. Bed.

No proposed outing may push work later, continue through work, or restart after work. Fun Forest’s available noon start therefore does not fit this trip. Fixed bookings that violate the rule remain visible as conflicts until the supplier changes them; they are never silently treated as compliant.

Blauw confirmed: Restaurant Blauw Amsterdam is booked for five at 17:00 on Monday 17 August. Work ends at 16:30 only for the direct transfer to dinner; there is no family programme afterwards.

Mouse Mansion and Miniatuur Museum are the right scale for today. Neither publishes a reliable weekday air-conditioning claim, so Rijksmuseum remains the verified cooled fallback.

Muntplein 8; free, no reservation, official visit length 10–20 minutes. Ask staff whether the two mini-museum floors are actively cooled. If not, leave rather than testing the children in a historic building during a 90°F day.

Miniatuur Museum Amsterdam · second heat check

Paulus Potterstraat 8; the city’s history in detailed miniatures, short films and text, designed as a 50-minute visit. Ask about active cooling before paying. If either small museum fails the heat check, use the Rijksmuseum Family Route instead.

Indoor lunch

Eat near Museumplein. If using Rijksmuseum as the fallback, stay in its café and climate-controlled complex.

Return and settle

No bikes, shopping or extra museum. Carry water and be fully back before work.

Friday is an Antwerp transfer day — transport is missing

AXUS confirms the two-night Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp stay and 15:00 check-in, but contains no Amsterdam departure, train, driver or pickup. Its three supporting documents cover Totoro and the two Eurostar journeys only.

Stay in verified air-conditioned lodging

No Amsterdam outing and no bikes. Pack, hydrate and avoid outdoor transfers before the hottest part of the day.

Air-conditioned private van to Antwerp

Hotel-to-hotel, luggage contained, five seats. The morning target protects work; it is planning guidance, not an AXUS booking. Leave enough traffic margin to be settled by 13:30.

Botanic Sanctuary Antwerp · two nights

Existing AXUS hotel stay at Leopoldstraat 26. Ask the hotel to hold luggage or release the room early; if formal check-in remains at 15:00, Margaryta can handle it without interrupting John’s work.

Use the hotel room or a confirmed quiet cooled workspace. The transfer must not spill into this block.
